I've made up my mind and I've decided to join Curves. Yeah, the weight loss thing is a bitch. I've tried and failed over and over, but I've always tried it on my own. I'm hoping with support, maybe this will be different. I'm hyped about it, so that's a good thing!

I also spiced up the hair a bit. I was tired of boring monotone color and thought I'd try something new. Mind you, this really isn't styled (I usually have it spiked in every direction, but you should get the idea).

On to the most non-photogenic person you'll ever encounter...

Let me know what you think of Curves... I tried it for a year myself.

What did you think? I don't know anyone who's done it. There's one about 5 minutes from my house so I figure it'll be really convenient.

I also joined because there is one literally about 3 minutes away, it seemed an obvious choice. I found it to be great for the first month or so, it helped to loosen me up, physically, and regain some flexibility/agility, but after that, it felt like the workouts weren't rigorous enough to actually burn much by way of calories or fat... I kind of got the feeling that it's intended more for much older (read: of the senior citizen variety) women who would otherwise be leading very sedentary lifestyles....

BUT, on the contrary, I also know that there were women who attended the same location as me, who were losing weight, and seemed very happy with the program, so my own experience is probably not a fair representation of what happens for everyone there. It also depends on what else you do with the program, and on your own. I know mine used to offer incentives for various milestones, and also, they would offer a 6-or so-week long course on dieting/eating right to accompany the program too.

The best thing about it, though, was the supportive staff, and it seemed like everyone who attended was really encouraging and nice/friendly. I definitely don't regret having joined, I just found that for my own intents and purposes, a more rigorous gym atmosphere worked better for me.
