And of course, this is just unjustifiable, regardless of the motivation. It's abusive, and Justin, if he has any self-respect, is going to have to move out and never talk to the big jerk again unless some serious groveling goes on soon. And that can't be Emmett reasoning with Justin - it has to be Brian getting over himself ('course, the fic stays in canon, so I can't exactly protest that - except that this fic is written well, so it and canon departs on that). The thing that kills me is that really, it doesn't matter why Brian is doing this. He's doing it - love is never enough. And this sure isn't love - I mean, Brian may think he loves Justin, but if love is an action, this isn't it. And if Justin wants to be treated with care, he needs to start by taking care of himself and get away from this.
God, I'm old. Or maybe, too much shit happened last year and it killed my romantic sensibilities. Feel free to ignore the cynicism.
